At Woodland Park MS, the Readers are all also very strong writers. They always read from original work they have written themselves, many without an outlined writing prompt. One of my Readers this week wrote this humorous piece about a bulldog:

If you [give] a bulldog a bone, he’s going to want water. (How did he know that? That is sooo true!) When you give him water, he’ll probably ask for a water bowl. When he can’t drink anymore, he’ll want to go to the park. Then he’ll want to play fetch. When he’s running to get the ball, he’ll notice that he runs slow. (Right again!) So he’ll probably ask for 5-Hour Energy (Or his own Thatmobile, BOL!)

After five hours he’ll go to sleep. He will sleep so long he wouldn’t be considered sleeping anymore, he’ll be hibernating!  (BOL! Hibernating. That’s funny!) When he wakes up he will ask what time it is. When he sees your watch he will want one too!!!

When he gets his watch, it will remind him of Big Ben. He wants to go to London, England. (I do!  I do!  I do want to go to London, England!-  Note to self:  Put that on my Water Bowl List, BOL!)

When he gets there, he will walk by a beautiful fountain.  Then he will get thirsty…

Me listening to the author. 5Hour Energy not required.

That’s the end? Noooo..!!! I don’t know about you, but I am thirsty right now anticipating the next installment of this work in progress about a bulldog’s adventures in London. Stay tuned.
